- Description:
- This is a cast of a bronze statuette of a nude, well-muscled, urinating Herakles. The hero stands placing his weight on his straightened right leg while steadying or supporting himself on the long club lowered on his left side. He reaches with his right hand to hold his genitals. He twists his head slightly to his right and looks down. The hero has a full beard and wears a laurel wreath on his head. The original from which this cast was made remains to be located. The statuette combines features of two types of Herakles, the resting or weary Herakles and the drunken Herakles. Whereas this figure uses his club as a support in a posture similar to the resting Herakles, the drunk Herakles type generally holds his club up or behind his neck.
