For detailed background and the context of this map, see Notes for ID #2387.01.
Copies of this postcard map were distributed with the pamphlet “Ireland’s Right to Unity” and intended to be sent by Republican supporters to their friends abroad celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. It shows a map of the British partition, urges the recipient to “remember” three basic arguments against partition, and concludes, “On this St. Patrick’s Day pledge yourself to help to undo the dismemberment of St. Patrick’s Island.” Cornell University Library is pleased to present this digital collection of Persuasive Maps, the originals of which have been collected and described by the private collector PJ Mode. The descriptive information in the “Collector’s Notes” has been supplied by Mr. Mode and does not necessarily reflect the views of Cornell University.
