- Work Type:
- maps, diagrams, excavation photos
- Materials/Techniques:
- digital photograph
- Description:
- This image shows a cross-section of a probable Seneca-era post (Post Mold 78); the west side of the post had already been removed. Post Mold 78 was a tapering stain, angled to a point at the north end of the stain (meaning that the upper portion of the post may have been pointed slightly to the south). This post lay 11.8 feet (3.6 meters) west from the closest cultural feature in the Possible Palisade Area; the open space between the two features may have been used as an “access corridor” between the hypothesized palisade line and the resumption of Seneca domestic space.
