White Springs Post Mold 95
White Springs - File Name:
- ws057.jpg
- Work Type:
- maps, diagrams, excavation photos
- Materials/Techniques:
- digital photograph
- Description:
- This image shows the cross-section of a dark soil stain that proved to be a Seneca-era post (Post Mold 95); the northwest half of the post has already been removed. The Seneca-era post mold tapered to a point, but also was impacted by root or rodent disturbance, which included a curved, channel-like extension below the base of the post. It is unclear whether an angled section at the north portion of the stain represents natural or cultural activity. This post is likely to have made up part of the south wall of the vestibule/entryway for House 3.
