This photograph shows the soil profile visible in the north wall of Test Unit 67 at the Townley-Read site. Two soil layers are visible: the upper, browish layer consists of plow-mixed soil, while the lower, darker layer is a Seneca trash deposit that also had been plowed but was less disturbed than the top layer. The yellowish-brown soil seen at the base of the test unit is non-cultural subsoil. Kurt Jordan, Archaeologist
