This is a scale plan (birds-eye view) drawing of the large outdoor firepit (Feature 5) at the Townley-Read site, drawn after all overlying plow-mixed soil was removed from the area. The small triangles indicate depth below a point established to map the feature, in centimeters. The "plow scars" represent places where tines from Euroamerican plows went particularly deep and scraped the top of the preserved Seneca feature.
