- Minutes of the December 5, 1947 meeting of the IWO Executive Committee submitted by Dave Greene. Agenda: "Attack on Order by Attorney General. Agreement on notifying officers and mobilizing societies (Sections) including through visits, investigating legal action, creating a plan, and issuing a statement. Response to Attorney General Tom Clark placing the IWO on the "Red List" in November 1947. Attendees: Milgrom, Saltzman, Shipka, Greene, Harisiades, Baltich, Wastila, Colon, Magli, Komlos, Sandler. Also [present] Tkach, Podolski, Schiffel, Lippa, Nikolauck, Kahn, Ruzich, Vail, Unger, Chapman."
- Notes:
- The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
