This is a small, tubular, translucent blue glass bead. This bead is closest to the Ia type group in the system derived by Kenneth and Martha Kidd, which is often used by archaeologists to classify beads. This is a drawn bead, made by pulling, or "drawing," molten glass into long hollow tubes. The tubes are then cut into pieces and then either remain as tubular beads or have their edges rounded.
