This is a very large, round, striped glass bead. This bead has a red core with one white layer, and a white exterior with red and blue stripes. This bead is closest to type IVnn4 in the system derived by Kenneth and Martha Kidd, which is often used by archaeologists to classify beads. This is a drawn bead-- drawn glass beads are made by pulling, or "drawing," molten glass into long hollow tubes.
