Auburn 24th Feb. 1855 Gov. E. T. Throop, My health is improving and I am now in my office and [?] this [?] are domiciled in my office also. We learned that his [?] finally abused him this bug very much and I had my [?] up and Mr. [?] went up and got him and brought him to my office (House was full) and we had him a bed fixed up in back room, and he is quite comfortable. He is gaining slowly but, from not having proper care, he has been kept back too long. But I hope he will soon be able to walk on it.
