Concert program includes song, dance, a play, and distribution of diplomas. "Unzer Class", a one-stanza verse about each of the 15 graduates. Student compositions and poems with the titles: Spring and Fall, Child Labor, My School, My Doll, A Half Hour in the Subway. A Sunset. A Little Flower. Debs. Yehoash. Jokes. Chicago University Introduces Coursework in Yiddish Literature. My Puppy. Flowers (poem). Clever Leybele. Winter. I Won the Strike. The Four Seasons. Greetings and congratulations. - "Umpartayishe" indicated not aligned with a party or faction. [Yehoash died in January 1927; student essay praises him as a poet but does not mention his translation of scripture into Yiddish.]
The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
