- Marked up proof of fundraising brochure from the Jewish Relief and Rehabilitation Fund, JPFO. The brochure says that R. Saltzman, General Secretary has authorized the bearer to collect funds for that purpose. Israel is now called Israel, but the ambulance in the cover illustration still reads "Palestine". Some beneficiaries are specified: Israel, Hadassah Children's TB Pavillion; Poland, "Youth Homes" [orphanages], Jewish Industrial Cooperatives and Cultural Institutions, and Linotype Machine; Rumania [sic], Jewish Industrial Cooperatives and Cultural Institutions; U.S.S.R, Steam Shovel for Birobidzhan, Supplies to First Central Medical Institute; France, "Children's Home" in Andrésy, and in Belgium, "Children's Home and Summer Camp"
- Notes:
- The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
