- Translated Summary. Rayski writes received your letter of the 26th. The receipt will be prepared as you require and given to Rubin Saltzman. Surprised that Saltzman did not receive the letter in Warsaw which we sent the same time as our letter to you. Have received nothing from him but a greeting. Expect he will be in Paris, August 10. Inquires about the mood in New York after Keltz (Kielce pogrom).
- Notes:
- Rayski is one of the founders in 1944 of CRIF (Conseil représentatif des institutions juives de France) and of the earlier Comité général de défense juive
The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
