- Valman who is affiliated with Solidarité Juive, AVON, Aide aux victimes de l’oppression Nazie; has been raising funds for a summer camp for Jewish orphans in Belgium. Translated Summary: Just received your letter. Pleased that they were able to pay out the money and will give Charles Kastner a check for $5000 when he contacts the JPFO. Will need an official receipt for the money signed, and with their seal.
- Notes:
- The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
