Soviet Union - Description:
- Translated Summary. Begins, "I (Rubin Saltzman) am sorry for not having written [to Pawel at the CKŻP] since I came back to the United States. You cannot imagine how busy I have been, whether reporting to the most important cities in the States, or with a special action we are preparing in the battle against the panic-sowers, in the Jewish world in general and in United States in particular, and especially against the preachers of exodus from Europe and from Poland...." Asks for information from time to time, officially or unofficially about the activities [book] of the Central Committee [of Jews in Poland]. Will soon send a copy of his report from his visit to Europe that he is presenting to the AJC and to the JPFO. PS. Sending a suit of clothes as a gift."
- Notes:
- The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans. Documents include language and representations which comprise the historical record and should not be interpreted to mean that Cornell University or its staff endorse or approve of negative representations or stereotypes presented.
