Postwar Order and Social Contract - Description:
- Translated Summary: Havanna has learned from 'Di Prese' [Yiddish newspaper in Argentina] that a delegation is coming from the Central Committee of Jews in Poland (CKŻP, Centralny Komitet Żydów w Polsce) to visit Jewish communities in the U.S. and Canada. Asking the Ordn to see whether there is a possibility of the delegation visiting Cuba. Describes their campaign for 75,000 dollars to help Jews in Europe, half of which is earmarked for Poland.
- Notes:
- The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
