Culture Front- Publishing, Literature, Yiddish - Description:
- 6 pages. Sketches from inside the school walls. Date stamp is January 12, but the year is illegible 194_. Typed manuscript with penciled corrections. Penciled note "H & D" indicates it is intended for the journal Heym un Derziung [Haym un Dertsiung, Home and Education]. Described elsewhere as a poet, Lotty Fiedler Malach published a volume subtitled "Stories, Portraits and Memoirs" and another with "Stories and Reportage". Itche Goldberg and Rubin Saltzman are listed as editors of Heym un Derziung; Goldberg was the main literary editor.
- Notes:
- The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans. Documents include language and representations which comprise the historical record and should not be interpreted to mean that Cornell University or its staff endorse or approve of negative representations or stereotypes presented.
