The attack on Pearl Harbor and America's entry into the War has ushered in a new phase for our schools. Discusses the role of schools in supporting the troops, but also in building solid, conscious, freedom-loving citizens who will be better able to serve, in whatever role, in difficult times. Discusses the work of establishing and opening schools in the Los Angeles area.

- Attributed to the National School and Culture Committee of the Jewish American Section of the IWO.
The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
