Jewish Left - Description:
- 2 pages. Draft is typed and redacted for more precision. Lists prices for funeral and cemetery costs, and rules related to death benefits. Details funeral and cemetery benefits, death payment schedule based on age, and costs. Similiar information provided in Funeral and Cemetery Benefits of the IWO Cemetery Department, Inc. which reads as if it is the Cemetery Department's by-laws. Specifies that after February 1, 1940 members must buy both cemetery and funeral (I.J. Morris) benefits as one bundle. Specifies that cremation is an option and that the organization will pay benefits for and bury suicides.. Options are otherwise mainly what would be expected from a Jewish fraternal society. Refers to other files and folders.
- Notes:
- The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
