- Letter from Albert E. Kahn to David Sherman of the American Jewish Conference that describes membership outreach efforts regarding 25,000 leaflets and 12,500 tickets that were ordered and received for the American Jewish Conference Lewisohn Stadium rally April 29th, 1945. The rally, to be held with the American Zionist Emergency Council (AZEC), was to mobilize public support for opening the gates to Palestine to European refugees.
- Notes:
- The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
