Political - Description:
- Received stamp is June 16th, but a penciled note says, Tues: June 15. Page 8 of Der Morgn Zhurnal, the religious and politically conservative newspaper. Translated Summary: Article outlined in blue describes a meeting between members of the Ordn with directors of the American Jewish Conference. As a result of that meeting, members of branches will be permitted to attend local meetings, at which delegates to the American Jewish Conference will be elected.
- Notes:
- The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans. Documents include language and representations which comprise the historical record and should not be interpreted to mean that Cornell University or its staff endorse or approve of negative representations or stereotypes presented.
