Postwar Jewish Unity - Description:
- 4 pages. Translated Summary: Reads like a speech written to support the Million Dollar Relief and Rehabilitation campaign. "The Jewish people have before them today the great historic task of helping to build Jewish life, of helping our sisters and brothers on the other side of the ocean, of helping to heal the deep wounds, inflicted on the Jewish people by the gruesome catastrophe of recent years..." It ends on a traditional note "Blessed should be the hands that do the work of relief and rebuilding."
- Notes:
- Penciled date may not be reliable. Sixth month of the Million Dollar Relief campaign may be more precise
The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
