- 4 pages. Bilingual program and ticket for the Third Annual Concert Given by Jewish People's Chorus of Philadelphia. Headliners include performers: actor, singer and cantor Moishe Oisher, opera soprano Mary Simmons, and Benjamin Zemach (dance, HaBimah) as well as conductor Ben Yomen. The Chorus is doing a performance of a new work text (epic poem) by Israel Goichberg "The Legend of Toil "with music by Lazar Weiner. Last page has a well-known Sholem Aleichem lullaby with words in Yiddish that are also transliterated into English.
- Notes:
- Mary Simmons' name is misspelled as Simons in the program
The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
