Jewish Lodges - Description:
- 2 pages. Telegram, sent less than two weeks before the Yalta Conference, identifies the JPFO as an affiliate of the American Jewish Conference in imploring Roosevelt "to place the urgent problems of rescue of the Jewish People, rehabilitation and the rights of Jews in Palestine on the agenda" of his forthcoming meeting with Churchill and Stalin. Offers full support of Roosevelt's wartime efforts.
- Notes:
- Part of the JPFO's coalition work on supporting the American Jewish Conference's platform.
The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
