- 3 Pages. Translated Summary: Present: Redi [sp?], Saltzman, Schiller, Goldman, Pevzner, Goldberg, [Albert E.] Kahn, Reimer, Schechter, Sandler, Youkelson. Agenda: 1. A. Kahn report from his tour, 2. Report by Saltzman, 3. Reimer, 4. "Black Book", 5. Addenda. Kahn's report is from his tour of Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Rubin Saltzman's report mentions the legal seriousness of the warning on the Order's fraternal activities that was delivered on March 16-17th to the Order's General Counsel [Lee Pressman] from the New York State Insurance Department. Separately, Gedaliah Sandler reports that the Black Book payment of $4,000 was agreed upon previously and is now due.
- Notes:
- The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
