Erysichthon
Diana - Description:
- A bearded man, a crown on his head, holding in both hands an axe with which he is cutting down a tree. The figure is nude and in the heroic style, which makes Winckelmann believe that it is typical of a fable. He thinks that this may depict Erysichthon who cut down a forest that was dedicated to Diana.
