Zeus (Greek deity) - Description:
- A giant, facing left, his left arm seems to be made of snake tails, and he holds a round object in his right hand. The catalogue calls him a titan? and refers to other feared anguipeds, Typhon (a monster), Pophyrion (king of giants), and Alcyone. This series of gem impressions show the Gigantomachy (from the Greek for "giant battle) was a war between the gods and the giants, who were distinguished by their snake legs (the term for this is anguiped).
