- Notes:
- This map illustrates a small German propaganda pamphlet lauding the "indominable" Siegfried Line, which the Germans referred to as the West Wall, protecting Germany from a French invasion. Notice that every city east of the wall is marked by the traditional small circle, but all French cities west of the wall - and Belgian cities with large Jewish populations, such as Antwerp - are marked by the six-pointed star of David.
The dark brown area along the wall is labeled "Army Defense Zone," and the light brown area east of that is the "Western Air Defense Zone."
