This map illustrates the location of The Lighthouse in Philadelphia, a mission intended as "a place where influence could be exerted for good as tirelessly as the saloons work for evil." Prominently shown on the map are the neighborhood saloons, bottlers, schools and textile mills. "Within an area of less than five blocks square, an area not exceptionally crowded with such places, there are thirty-three saloons, four bottlers and numerous ‘speak easies’ and policy shops.” The map illustrates a pamphlet describing The Lighthouse's operations from 1895 to 1900.
