- Notes:
- This cold-war map was produced the month after the start of the Korean War. Arrows from the U.S.S.R. are directed toward eight hot spots: Berlin, Yugoslavia, Turkey, Iran, Tibet, Indo-China, Formosa (Taiwan) and Japan. The specific Soviet threat in each case is described in text. According to the text verso (ID #2124.02), "Nations on the perimeter of Russia and its satellite states are wondering if Moscow's Korean adventure is the prelude to aggressive Communist action elsewhere - by direct Russian invasion, attack by a Russian puppet state or internal Communist uprising. Map shows nations surrounding Russia that are most concerned."
Acme Newspictures was a prominent news photo agency.
