- A colorful promotional map by McCormick and Company, on the back of a folded brochure. The company's Baltimore headquarters is prominently identified on the map (labeled "Home of the Bee & Banquet Brand Products"), and there is a large inset rendering of its "12-1/2 Acre Daylight Pure Food Plant." Many of the company's products are shown along with four illustrations of their production world-wide: tea from Ceylon, spices from India, vanilla beans from Mexico, mustard seed from England. The map shows the routes of explorers from Columbus to Lindbergh and country-by-country details on the source of products (for example, marjoram and millet seed from Algeria; white and black pepper from French Indo-China). The ships and planes of the era are illustrated, including dirigibles and bi-planes, along with the flags of 33 countries.
On the verso (ID #2080.02) are photographs of the company's facilities and background on its products, along with a list of important "firsts" for the City of Baltimore.
The brochure is undated; the 1931 date is estimated.
For an updated version of same promotional map produced some 40 years later, see ID #2079 (1971).
