- This large poster map in English presents a tranquil, attractive view of the Soviet Union as a place of natural beauty and burgeoning peaceful development. The symbols identify 18 categories of industrial processing, along with minerals extraction, power stations, transport, agricultural crops, livestock, wildlife and forests. At the lower right, the 15 Soviet Republics are identified, located on an inset map, and the typical clothing of men and women from each is illustrated.
The verso, ID #2009.02, contains extensive text, with portions devoted to subjects like "Constitutional Guarantees," "Power in the Hands of the People," "A Land of Educated Peoples," "Cultural Treasures Accessible to the People," and "A Land of House-Warming Parties." A good deal of propaganda material was prepared in connection with the 50th anniversary of the Russian Revolution in 1967, and this map may have been part of that effort.
