- Notes:
- An article in Life Magazine reproducing a German map asserting "German right of self determination" over large parts of western and central Europe. The magazine reports that "Nazis are displaying [this map] widely through Greater Germany." The article refers to Nazi claims in Switzerland and Alsace as "wildly absurd" and threats to Czechoslovakia as "more immediate and ominous." Nevertheless, it concludes with a statement of Herbert Hoover that despite the views of Europeans that the U.S. would "inevitably" be drawn into war between democracy and fascism, "we should have none of it."
