At first glance, this unusual map might be regarded as the ultimate expression of the New-York-centric world, more than a century before Steinberg's famous View of the World From Ninth Avenue, ID #1387. In fact, Bradford was a Bostonian, and he likely included this map in his 1835 Atlas with an eye to its commercial usefulness. (On the other hand, one struggles to find commercial need for the distance and mileage to the North and South Poles.)
