Notes:
A map produced by the English as part of the general concern of a French invasion at the time. The table at the right describes "Places were [sic] Descents [landings] have been Made at the different Invasions of England," from 1066 to 1781. For a similar French map apparently intended to mislead the English into believing that an invasion was imminent in 1798, see ID #1028, Tardieu, Carte des Descentes Faites en Angleterre.
