Novick / redkator (sic) fun Morgan Frayayt (sic) / 20,000 Tvatsik toyznt zlotys far / mayn +yor in Treblike" Received from Comrade P. Novick, editor of the Morgn Freiheit (Frayhayt), 20,000 Twenty Thousand zlotys for, My Year in Trebli(n)ke. Contains several misspellings. Notes: Later Rubin Saltzman will write to the editors of the Tog and the Forverts on Yankl Vernik's (Jankiel Wiernik's) behalf, saying he promised to convey payment for his story "A Year in Treblinke", which was printed in their newspapers without him having received payment. Wiernik's account was also published in book form by Farlag 'Unzer Tsayt' (New York), in 1944.
- Notes:
- The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans. Documents include language and representations which comprise the historical record and should not be interpreted to mean that Cornell University or its staff endorse or approve of negative representations or stereotypes presented.
