- In Yiddish. Translated Summary: They are sending a number of books to their district committee in Bratslav/Wrocław/Breslau. Have asked comrade Egit to distribute them among the towns in Lower Silesia. Is happy to hear of their cultural actiivities. The Ordn will do what it can to help them rebuild their cultural life. Asks them to let him know when they get their share of the books, which ones they got, which were the most helpful, and what more they need. [note: Powiatowy Komitet means 'district committee'.] Jakub Egit is later arrested.
- Notes:
- The material from Poland shows post-war conditions and JPFO fund raising and relief efforts.
The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
