Culture Front- Publishing, Education - Description:
- In Yiddish. Re: relief efforts in Poland. Translated Summary: Financial arrangements regarding donations. This is nearly identical to earlier letter from Rubin Saltzman to Joel Lazebnik, apart from a typo and a few extremely minor edits. Additions to that letter include: 1. that the World Jewish Congress has decided to hold a conference on Feb 19th, 1948, and 2. that Saltzman will be the Ordn's delegate to the Congress, and he asks the "position" of the Central Committee of Jews in Poland (CKŻP, Centralny Komitet Żydów w Polsce). Also, 3. informs Lazebnik that the linotype machine is finally ready to go out to them.
- Notes:
- Compare to letter to Lazebnik of October 25
The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
