- Response to letters from YKUF Paris of Nov 25. Translated Summary: Brought the matter up urgently in a meeting of the presidium. All agreed that the wording in the letter to Lithuania was mistaken and unnecessary. None of us wants the center to move to the United States. We expect a lot of nakhes (joy, pride) from the Paris center. No matter that you have difficulties. We don't lack for them here, either. You have probably already received an official letter from the presidium to this effect.
- Notes:
- Disambiguation: this is not the Congress for Jewish Culture.
The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
