Postwar Order and Social Contract - Description:
- In Yiddish. 3 pages. Translated Summary: Letter to the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee in which Adolf Berman and Joel Lazebnik ask for money and discuss the CKŻP's financial plan to support the Polish Jewish post-war community for the coming year, pleading its case in terms of necessity, frugality and importance.
- Notes:
- Dr. Berman was forced out of the CKŻP in 1949.
The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
