- 90 pages, all but 16 pages of which are the music. Translated Summary: Primarily in Yiddish, with a few English language songs included like "Hold the Fort". The rest have lyrics written out as text. Bi-lingual inasmuch as there is English transliteration with the sheet music (Hebrew alphabet is used for Yiddish songs listed and printed at the back but they are not translated). Foreword says the songs are those sung by their choir, or in summer camps, in schools, at demonstrations, etc. There is also an introductory note by Kalman Marmor.

The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
