- Yiddish, 32-page black booklet Khurbn Daytshland (Moshe Kats, L. Faynberg, and Moshe Shifres, eds.). The catastrophic destruction of Germany (meaning what is happening to Jews). An anthology of prose and (a little over half) poetry. Has very strong Moshe Nadir poem Daytshland in Noyt. Twenty-one contributors in all, and the full roster of over 70 Proletpen writers at the end of the book. A prescient and not well known Yiddish volume.

The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans.
