- This is a cast of the Kouros from Tenea, the standing male nude discovered in 1846 in a cemetery of ancient Tenea in the Corinthia and housed in Munich. The figure stands rigid with hands clenched at his hips, advances his left foot, and distributes his weight equally on both feet. He looks ahead with smallish, almond-shaped eyes and exhibits an archaic smile. His hair is depicted in doughy waves that fall behind his shoulders, banded at the head and behind the ears. In this cast the figure is shown with an intact right forearm, a restoration to the original that has subsequently been removed.
