- Description:
- This is a cast of the marble, relief-decorated funerary stele of Glaukias and Euboule housed in the National Museum in Athens. At the center of the slab, the relief is sunken and rendered very basically. At the viewer's right side, a short-haired woman sits on a chair with a back and curved legs with her feet on a stool. She is fully draped in a short-sleeved chiton with a mantle over her shoulders. She reaches out her right arm to hold the hand of her husband, who stands to the viewer's left, resting on a staff. He is bearded and wears a himation at his waist, leaving his chest bare. The stele is topped by a blank, curved pediment with an inscription below. The inscription, IG II² 11000, reads: <Γ>λαυκίας. Εὐβούλη.
