Tree trunks - Image View Description:
- Image of a fallen tree used to cross the Meemure oya (stream).
- Description:
- This fallen tree trunk was used to traverse the Mimure oya (stream). The Mimure (oya) shown here is the major source of water for paddy cultivation in Mimure and is part of the Mahaweli Ganga watershed. Government efforts to protect the watershed have led to land use restrictions in the Mimure area and elsewhere in the Knuckles range. The Mimure oya flows east/northeast into the Heen Ganga, a major tributary of the Mahaweli.
