Lincoln, Abraham, 1809-1865 - Measurement:
- 20.32 x 30.48 (Mount) (centimeters)
- Description:
- Assemblage consists of three McKinley Tariff Object Lesson tin cards
eight die-struck portrait items
and a die-cut advertising card. The tin cards protesting the 1890 McKinley tin tariff were illustrated by Roebuck of New York
William McKinley, sponsor of the 1890 tariff while in the U.S. House of Representatives, was serving as Ohio Governor in 1892. Several of these items make use of images of Cleveland's family (wife Frances and daughter Baby Ruth). Two medals were designed to tie in to the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition, held in Chicago, Illinois. The die-cut Vote for Papa advertising card promotes real estate agent Fred. L. Flohn of Newark, New Jersey. - Cite As:
