- Assemblage consists of 1872 Greeley-Brown campaign items, one ca. 1888 Allen G. Thurman advertising card, and a 20th century halftone reproduction of a Greeley portrait. Mount contains a cast thermoplastic turtle lapel stud, two albumen print Greeley portrait studs, and four Greeley ferrotype portrait items. Donor Susan H. Douglas associates these items with the 1872 Presidential campaign
it appears that she mis-identified the W. Duke, Sons & Co. advertising card, which contains a portrait of Allen G. Thurman, the 1888 Democratic Party candidate for Vice-President, as a baseball player. - Cite As:
