Lincoln, Abraham, 1809-1865 - Measurement:
- 20.32 x 30.48 (Mount) (centimeters)
- Description:
- Assemblage consists of a variety of Stephen Douglas medals and pendants dating to the 1860 Presidential campaign, Douglas's death in 1863, and the laying of the cornerstone of the Douglas Monument in 1866. One item contains a portrait of Douglas on one face and Abraham Lincoln on the reverse. The mount also contains a 20th century halftone reproduction of a Douglas portrait. The Cossit Hill & Co. / Memphis item appears to be a store card used to advertise this business. Two manufacturer's marks could not be traced: CHILDS, CHICAGO (possibly S.D. Childs & Co.) and R.L..
