- Assemblage consists of two large Winfield Scott portrait medallions, five portrait medals, one portrait pendant, a copper alloy portrait plaque, and a 20th century clipping from a secondary source containing a halftone portrait reproduction. Most of the items stress military themes
the obverse of the plated medal by Leonard reads A GALLANT & SKILLFUL HERO / THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE and the reverse of one of the copper alloy medals reads SCOTT & GRAHAM / UNION & CONSITUTION. Mount contains works by H.W. Hayden, Leonard, C.G. Quilfeldt & J. Lebreton (includes 1861 Court Records Statement), and C.C. Wright. The Quilfeldt & Lebreton medal was issued immediately after the start of the American Civil War. - Cite As:
