- Description:
- There are two separate components to this item, and it is unclear if they are related. The first item is the cover page from the July 15, 1852 edition of The Musical World and New York Musical Times
the second is a four-page spread from The Musical World and Journal of the Fine Arts that contains a Winfield Scott promotional song. Item donor Susan H. Douglas's notes imply that all of the pages were from the same periodical, but it appears possible that they came from two different sources based on the slight discrepancy in the titles and the different sizes of the pages. No composer or lyricist is mentioned. Other pages contain advertisements for songbooks and musical instruments, music for two additional songs, and articles on the history of the violin and novel effects in French opera. Item 2214.SM0054 is a Franklin Pierce promotional song from the same edition of The Musical World and Journal of Fine Arts. - Cite As:
